COLISEUM syndrome CONCERT ARCHIVE
Chicago COLISEUM
CHICAGO, IL
(UPDATED 2/23/18)
Background
This is a website dedicated to the archival of concerts held at the Syndrome at the Chicago Coliseum. The Syndrome opened on October 16, 1970 and closed on March 13, 1971 after only a few short months in operation. Dick Gasson of 22nd Century Productions opened the Syndrome when his plans to reopen the Kinetic Playground did not materialize. However, pressure from the City and an unfortunate incident at a pay-for-view boxing match on March 8, 1971, resulted in the closure of the Syndrome on March 13, 1971 following a James Taylor concert the previous night. Your help is appreciated to complete this list.
Archive
The shows included in this archive have been independently confirmed by The Tour Archive. These shows were shown at one time or another as scheduled at the Syndrome and noted as cancelled only if evidence of a cancellation was published or all concerts scheduled after March 12, 1971. If a show listing is unconfirmed by us and the source is another tour archive website, we will identify the source tour archive. Once the show is independently confirmed by The Tour Archive we will remove the link.
In Search Of
Our goal is to assemble the most accurate, comprehensive archive for concerts held at the Syndrome. Ultimately we hope to confirm all dates with newspaper ads, performance reviews, ticket stubs and posters. If you have any information on any Syndrome concert during this time period please let us know. Send us an email of your information, or scan or send a copy of a newspaper ad, performance review, ticket stub or poster. If any of the information in the tour archive is incomplete or inaccurate please email us with the corrections [email protected]
